Nightlife is a core part of the identity and brand of Atlanta. The city’s nightlife scene has been building and developing for over a century in the city and continues to be vital today. Nightlife isn’t just about entertainment and socializing but plays a substantial role in the local economy. Atlanta’s nightlife industry generates nearly $5.1 billion of revenue annually, directly supporting 41,000 jobs. The industry’s indirect and induced impacts throughout the local economy cumulatively generate a total economic impact of nearly $8.5 billion annually. View here.

2024 Providence
This report shares the conditions and impacts of Providence’s “Life at Night” economy, the city’s supply of nightlife-oriented businesses that operate predominately outside the traditional 9 to 5. This study aims to help the City of Providence’s Department of Art, Culture and Tourism (ACT) and other local stakeholders better understand the dynamics and challenges that shape Providence’s Life at Night economy, impacts on local employment and fiscal revenue, and opportunities for the City to address related business, worker, and resident needs. 2024 Dallas
Visit Dallas and the City of Dallas commissioned Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics Company, to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the economic and fiscal (tax) impacts attributable to the nightlife economy in Dallas, TX in 2023. To quantify the economic impact of the nightlife economy in Dallas, Tourism Economics prepared a comprehensive model using multiple primary and secondary data sources (including data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau) to quantify the impacts arising from various components of the nightlife economy.

2020 Washington, D.C.
While the District may be better known for its politicians than its DJs, the District's nightlife has a rich history. From the first Beatles concert in the United States to the creation of Go-Go music, a world-renowned punk scene, and one of the country’s most robust nightlife scenes for LGBTQ+ venues, the District has long been a vibrant, inclusive place to have fun and connect socially. The District’s restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and performance venues contribute $7.1 Billion to the city’s economy. View here.

2012 San Francisco
In 2011, Supervisor Wiener requested the Office of Economic Analysis to conduct an economic impact study on entertainment and nightlife in San Francisco to determine: The size of the Nightlife Industry. The number of jobs created by the Nightlife Industry. The amount of tourism the Nightlife Industry brings to San Francisco. The amount of tax the Nightlife Industry contributes to the City.
